These are just a few from our trip to Texas to visit the Graham cousins and Aunt Lissy and Uncle Gary.  Fun trip. It was me and the kids and they enjoyed the time.  We visited the Heard Museum and covered about a 2.5 mile hike with 12 kids and two moms!

First Day - a New Version

The first day of school rolled around last week.  This year looks a bit different.  After much discernment, prayer, and research, we decided to try homeschooling.  So away we go.  I still had to capture some pictures.  Luke was still sleeping, so he missed out.  Here's the rest of the gang:

Happy First Birthday, Luke!

Wow. Luke is one already!  Leyton even said it perfectly, "I don't want Lukey to be one. I want him to stay a baby."  So do I, but I'm excited to see him change, too. He's standing well, almost walking.  He enjoyed his cake very much after his favorite meal of spaghetti.  It was a great day. His shirt has a "1" on it, but that not is so busy it was hard to catch a good picture!  We sure love him.  And good thing, Patrick was in town this year! Ha, ha.  Sweet sweet boy.

We've had a cooler summer. Hope we can fit in a few more days at the pool!

Ready for Action!

The older two are playing fall baseball with a new team. They seem to have some great coaches, and they say the practices are, "the best ever, like MLB!"  Good to see them having fun. We bought some catcher's gear - he's ready to go! Looks like we will also have a pitcher/short stop. First game is next week.

Happy 5th Birthday, Anne!

Anne turned 5 on the 5th of this July. What a joyful little girl.  She of course loves Frozen, and loves swimming, playing dolls, and riding the EZ Roller with her neighbor friend.  I love when she opens her eyes so wide when she's excited or very interested in something, and her big blues shine through.  She plays well with kids her own age and those older & younger.  We spent the day around home and she wanted to have an Ariel party & cake, Pizza Hut, and swimming.  She got a cool new unicorn bike helmet, a new Ariel mermaid, books, clothes, and more.  It was a wonderful day to celebrate her.

It's been a while...

So Lissy is making me feel bad -- she's updated her blog.  Guess I need to get on it.  It's not that I don't think about it, it's just hard to find a free minute.  Always something else jumps in front of it, and then by evening, I'm just not ready to START on something after the kids are finally in bed (which in summer is pretty late these days).  Maybe I can set a goal to start updating --- I really don't want to let all the memories slip away, but sometimes it may happen.  We'll see.  I do have pictures, so maybe I'll start with that.

Cinderella and the Prince

Today Anne was asking to listen to music.  She asked to listen to the song Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman.  I was going to start it, but for a moment I blanked on who the artist was.  I said, "Who is that?"  Anne replied, "Cinderella, Mom."  I said, "Yes, I know, but who sings it?"  Her sure reply, "a prince."  Why wouldn't the song "Cinderella" be sung by a prince?

OK, so I have to admit I'm excited about this

So Leyton is slightly following in my footsteps!  He won the local free throw contest recently and gets to go on to districts.  He made 12 out of 15.  I may have actually been a little more excited than he was! Hee hee.

The Luckiest Lady

Anne and I sometimes play the game with saying "I love you."  She'll say she loves me, I tell her I love her.  Then one of us will say, "I love you more."  And it goes on, more, more, more, etc.  then sometimes she says, "I love you a million million million million (...lots of times she says it)."  Then I'll say, "Wow, that's really a lot!" And her reply, "You must be a lucky lady!"  If she only knew how true!

Time saver

Oh the time I would gain if a certain two year old didn't constantly take off all her clothes!  I have to dress that girl too many times a day. She made a few people chuckle at Costco today when she said she had to go potty and so she just pulled down her pants.  God help me.
