Wise Big Brothers? Maybe not...

On Tuesday evening of this week when I was at work, Patrick heard an amusing comment from Jacob. They were headed to bed and they were figuring out whose turn it was to "pick the lights." This is because they each have their own preference of a) nightlight, b) closet light, c) no lights on at night. It was causing a lot of issues, so Nathaniel made a calendar and each night there's an initial for whose turn it is to "pick the lights." So, on Tuesday, Jacob was pretty sure it was his turn. However, Leyton & Nathaniel disagreed and were being a bit bossy about it to Jacob and telling him in their less than kind voices at the end of the evening that it was not his pick but it was one of theirs, "because they checked the calendar." Jacob was crying in his closet and said, "Dad, Leyton and Nathaniel don't know everything!"

Just a funny thing to hear as I'm sure he really didn't think much about what he said although it is true for all of us!

Donuts with Dads

Jacob's school had "Donuts with Dads" recently and Patrick was able to go. Jacob sure was excited. They had all made a laminated sheet for the dads and it had some question/answer information on it. This is some of what Jacob's had...I can picture him answering this, just laugh at it anyway...

The Daddy Rooskey was quite a good one. He does call Patrick that on occasion. He's a funny kid.

Thanks to Grandma Donna and Grandpa Jerry for coming over tonight so that Patrick & I could go out for dinner. We had a nice meal at the Bristol and then, of all things, went to Wal-Mart to do some toy bargain-hunting. Ha, funny for a date night? Well it was fun to get a good deal or two!

Jacob's Prayer

Lately Jacob has been praying the same prayer every night that I pray with him. I'll ask what he wants to pray for and he says:
"I want to pray for Grandma Rita that she can come down from heaven so we can visit her."
