Leah has an ear infection and needs the wonderful pink stuff...amoxicillin. This is her first ear infection; not bad for being about 2 1/2. Anyway, we were getting ready to go pick it up and my innovative son, Nathaniel, comes up with a solution to save a trip.
"Mom, why don't you just MAKE the medicine?"
I guess it's a compliment since he knows I do make a lot around the house and every night I work he asks what kind of medicine I'm working on. Good thinking. Believe me, if I could, I would make it myself!

A couple more pics...
I love the language of a 2-year-old
I just love it when I listen to Leah these days. I can understand her, yet when I listen to what she LITERALLY says, it can be amusing. A couple favorites...I'll have to add more when I hear them.
"Mom, I lub you."
"NO, diffint one!"
Classic: "I need go toop on the hotty!"

About 5 Minutes with Nathaniel
Yesterday after school, Nathaniel gave me quite chuckle with some comments he made all within about 5 minutes. He has a book from the library about presidents and he asked me to read it to him. We sat on the couch to read it...
"Mom, I don't think I want to be president."
"OK, that's just fine. Why do you say that?" I ask.
"Because you have to dress up A LOT!" (and he's full of smirky facial expressions)
Then he said, "Mom, the president lives in the White House. We live in a white house, maybe we could be president."
And then Leyton came in and they were discussing that a police officer came to school during the day as well as a dentist. They were telling me they learned "to talk police" as if it's a whole language. They both told me they knew what 'yes' was in police.
"10-4." (I was thinking that was more like goodbye, but they assured me 10-4 was yes.)
"OK," I said. "Well, what's goodbye?"
Nathaniel said, "I don't know, probably 10-5!"
I just laughed. He's a funny kid but always thinking. Then it turned out the dentist thing went well. After he sat there another minute, he said, "I finished my snack, I'm going to go brush my teeth."
Good day.

Anne is not a Cereal Fan
Well, Anne is acting very similar to how Leah & Jacob were - they just don't really like cereal. Jacob ate it like one time and Leah maybe a couple. Anne pretty much doesn't want it either. Silly girl. I guess I'll have to work on the wonderfully delicious baby food meats (not...yuck!) to get her some iron. We'll see. She's eaten green beans just a bit and peas once or twice. She is, though, starting to grab at my plate. Maybe her baby food time will be short; fine with me!
Wise Big Brothers? Maybe not...
On Tuesday evening of this week when I was at work, Patrick heard an amusing comment from Jacob. They were headed to bed and they were figuring out whose turn it was to "pick the lights." This is because they each have their own preference of a) nightlight, b) closet light, c) no lights on at night. It was causing a lot of issues, so Nathaniel made a calendar and each night there's an initial for whose turn it is to "pick the lights." So, on Tuesday, Jacob was pretty sure it was his turn. However, Leyton & Nathaniel disagreed and were being a bit bossy about it to Jacob and telling him in their less than kind voices at the end of the evening that it was not his pick but it was one of theirs, "because they checked the calendar." Jacob was crying in his closet and said, "Dad, Leyton and Nathaniel don't know everything!"
Just a funny thing to hear as I'm sure he really didn't think much about what he said although it is true for all of us!

Donuts with Dads
Jacob's school had "Donuts with Dads" recently and Patrick was able to go. Jacob sure was excited. They had all made a laminated sheet for the dads and it had some question/answer information on it. This is some of what Jacob's had...I can picture him answering this, just laugh at it anyway...
1) What is your dad's name?
Daddy Rooskey
2) What does your dad drive?
A Big Black truck (not sure where this came from)
3) What do you like to do with your dad?
Play
I believe also...
4) What does your dad like to eat?
Macaroni
The Daddy Rooskey was quite a good one. He does call Patrick that on occasion. He's a funny kid.
